Kathy Russell Baird
Artistic Director/Instructor

Kathy is a graduate from Kennesaw State University and was trained as a ballet dancer under the renowned Stanley Zompakos, a soloist under George Balanchine with the New York City Ballet. She also studied with Pavel Rotaru (from the Kirov Ballet) in Atlanta.   She has attended Ballet Magnificat's intensive workshops for teachers for six  summers.  Several of the Baird Ballet students have received scholarships to study at Joffrey and Boston Ballet and have attended Ballet Magnificat summer intensive program.

Upon graduating from High School, she became an assistant instructor for Clara Ellison School of Dance and became her successor.   She has taught ballet for Shorter College and workshops for Rome Ctiy School System.  She has performed in Rome Little Threatre and Ruth Mitchell's dance company production of the Nutcracker as the "Snow Queen' as well as danced various roles in La Boutique Fantasque, Beauty and the Beast and Swan Lake. Most recently, Kathy won the Judge's Award in her performances in the Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge, 2011 and 2012. 


Hannah Camacho

has studied dance at the Dance Center since the age of 3 and has  taught dance for the past six years.  She  found the love of contemporary throught her participation in Allegro Dance Company.  Hannah also studied ballet with Baird Ballet and continues her work in the community through Rome Little Theatre, teaching musical theatre.  She has danced in Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge winning People's Choice award winner in 2018. Hannah will be teaching contemporary classes on Saturday morning.

Quillen Kai

is a senior at Model High and has studied dance since the age of 3 at the Dance Center. For the past three years Quillen has studied ballet with Baird Ballet and attended Ballet Magnificat summer intensive for 4 weeks last summer.  Most recently, he was selected to attend the Georgia Governor;s Honors Program, a national renowned summer enrichment program, as a Dance Major.  After High School, he plans to major in Dance at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Quillen will be teaching advanced tap on Saturday mornings.

Sara Pecina

is the Director of Dance and Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance at Berry College.  She received her MFA in Dance from the University of Oklahoma and graduated Magna Cu Laude with a BA in Dance from Western Kentucky University.  Performance highlights include Cedar Point Live Entertainment in Sandusky, Ohio, and dance concerts in Civitavecchia, Italy, at Jazz Dance World Congress, and at tap dance festivals in St. Louis and New York City.  Sara is a certified mat Pilates instructor and has also trained to teach Dance for Parkinson's Disease .   She will be teaching advanced Jazz and will be offering master classes in Pilates and stretch and conditioning.

Any Sullivan

has studied dance at Baird Ballet for the past six years and has studied under former Atlanta Ballet principal dancers, Kristine Loveless and Stacey Slichter at North Atlanta Dance Center.  She has attended Ballet Magnificat's summer intensives for the past three summers and most recently making level 11.  She began teaching dance in her own home dance studio called "Joyful Dance Studio."  Amy has danced lead roles with Baird Ballet such as Titania in Midsumer Night's Dream in a Pas de deux at Shakespeare Festival, she danced the role of Job's wife in the Book of Job, and a Pas de deux role in Joseph and Mary.  Amy has a love for the Lord and plans to continue her dance after she graduates this year.  Amy will be teaching ballet, tap and jazz.

  Fall Registration (2021)  in progress  through August.  Classes will begin Tuesday, September 7.   Please call the studio and set up an appointment to register and/or to be fitted for dancewear.

If you are a returning student and know the class you will be in, please print out a registration form and mail it to the studio with September tuition.  Otherwise, call to register and to discuss classes.
